Arabist Islamologist and specialist in Sufism

Eric Geoffroy is a French scholar of Islamic studies and writer, born in Belfort in 1956. Professor Emeritus at the University of Strasbourg, where he taught Arabic and Islamic studies, he is a member of the Arab Academy in Cairo and of the Scientific Council of the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities and Social Sciences in Abu Dhabi. An internationally recognized specialist in Sufism, he is president of the Sufi Consciousness association. His research also focuses on the challenges of spirituality in the contemporary world: globalization, ecology, questions of femininity, spiritualities in action, and more. Author of more than twenty books translated into several languages and an international lecturer, Eric Geoffroy does not neglect the academic field, but it is important to him to share his human and spiritual experience.
